Having quality ingredients is key to making this Italian Inspired English Muffin Sandwich BOOMB!! Here's how and why this sandwich is so good.
First you have to get the best english muffin you can find. Freshly baked ones from your local bakery would be ideal. But if you can't get them, then Leadbetter's English Muffins are the next best thing. What you are looking for, is a fluffier muffin that will toast beautifully but still have enough of a soft interior dough to sop up all the flavors of the burrata, pesto, and tomato juice.
Find high quality burrata. If you have a local Italian cheese shop or deli, you may be able to get freshly pulled burrata. If not, Di Stefano or Gioia are brands of burrata that you can find at Whole Food's that are of high quality.
Make your own pesto if you have time. If not, purchase freshly made pesto from your local Italian deli or supermarket.
Freshly sliced ham or Italian cold cuts, such as mortadella, prosciutto from your local deli or supermarket.
Heirloom tomatoes...These juicy flavorful tomatoes will provide the moisture the sandwiches needs while melding beautifully with the burrata.
Sea salt + good EVOO = This will make all the flavors in the sandwich pop.
Spend a little time getting these ingredients. The work in the kitchen becomes a lot easier as the ingredients itself will do all the work. Now go make this sandwich and you can thank me later!! Remember to toast that muffin right before you compose it. The muffin needs to be crispy on the outside but warm and soft on the inside.
